2019 New Electoral Roll

2019 is a year in which all churches in the church of england must draw up a new roll of electors from scratch.
Simply because you live in the parish, Holy Trinity is YOUR church. Even if you never come to services, the church is there if you need it. The church is keen to be part of the vibrant and friendly community in the village. The building is kept open most days and we know that both villagers and passers-by find it a safe place to sit awhile in peace. Holy Trinity is a wonderful venue for a wedding, and four marriages were celebrated here in 2018. We also support good causes, such as the Tunbridge Wells Food Bank, the Women’s Refuge (for victims of domestic abuse) and the Royal British Legion.

You are entitled to be on the roll for Eridge church simply because you live within the parish boundary, if you are over 16, have been baptised and have attended or might attend the church. The Roll is essential for the governance of the charity that runs the church. Being on the roll imposes no obligation on you either financially or in terms of attendance, but entitles you to vote for the charity trustees.

We don’t have a Rector at present but congregation numbers are creeping up and we were encouraged by the numbers on Remembrance Sunday and the Carol Service. A full Roll indicates that the community takes an interest in the life of the church, which could encourage a new Rector.

We hope that you will agree to continue to be part of the church in this way, and, of course, you are welcome at any of our services. On Mothering Sunday and Easter the Eridge choir will perform. Bishop Richard of Lewes (the biking bishop) will be celebrating Easter in our church this year.
